When my son was born, I remember someone saying to me “the moment a child is born, the mother is also born…” Wait..what?! So my previous 27 years of life meant nothing? And now, my life is just going to be poopy diapers, so much crying, not enough sleeping, and having a little human COMPLETELY dependent on me? Gosh…I was a mess as a new mom, and certainly didn’t feel like I was fresh and just born!
Here’s what I think now. Becoming a new parent isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. It is long nights, exhausting days, and often times, a total blur. This is where I step in. I want to be there to capture the best moments of your fresh little nugget in those first couple of weeks, so that when you look back, that “blur” turns into complete joy. That little one is going to be your entire world, and having these memories to hold for the rest of your life is going to mean the world to you. You aren’t “born” when your child is, but becoming a parent is going to be the most rewarding and crazy amazing role you ever take on.
